William C. Kepner, Photographer

Six Decades Behind a Camera

Bill Kepner's life in photography spans a career of over sixty years. Educated at the College of William and Mary, Bill served as staff photographer on The Colonial Echo. His formal training as a USAF photographer began during the Korean Conflict where he was honored by the Japanese press and Nikon Camera. His career in the private sector expanded to include photography, both still and motion pictures, where he supported advertising, public relations, and training programs for many years.

Bill launched his career as a marine photographer in the late 1980's when he moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and fulfilled a childhood dream of sailing and photographing the Chesapeake Bay. Bill has supported the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, the Historical Society of Talbot County, and many other institutions by printing and releasing quality prints for exhibitions and sales.

Today, Bill and his wife, Mary, still make their home in Talbot County, Maryland. Building on the skills he has developed during a lifetime of conventional photography, Bill is also adept at emerging digital technologies. The images of Log Canoe Gallery combine work from Bill's archives and from recent races as well. Either way, our prints make a wonderful gift or treasured keepsake of a sailing tradition on the Chesapeake, captured through the eyes of Bill Kepner.
